Rosneft has opened navigation on the Volga

Rosneft started river transportation of oil cargoes to the navigation campaign of 2019. Start of 2019 navigation in Saratov was given by barge towing arrangement (Demetra barge with the Gelios tug) of the Prime shipping company  (part of the Rosneft Oil Company Group), which will deliver 4200 tonnes of fuel oil in the Caucasus port for further shipment to export.

The first batch of oil products was shipped from the Saratov refinery. During April, it is planned to start shipping products from terminals of the Samara Refinery Group on the Volga and the Ufa Refineries on the Belaya river.

River transportation allows to increase the efficiency of the company's refinery products sales.

Rosnefteflot JSC (a 100% subsidiary of Rosneft Oil Company PJSC) annually attracts a fleet of more than 150 oil tankers of the river-sea class and barge towing arrangements for oil products export by inland waterways.

In 2018, the river fleet operated by the Company, transported about 5 million tons of  various types oil products for export and for bunkering needs from the company's refineries located in the Samara region, Saratov and Bashkiria.
